SumUp has the lowest estimate - about €84/year less than Revolut Business, the next option. Across all 10 providers the gap reaches €1,260/year.
That holds at your current average sale. If it rises above about €61, Revolut Business becomes the cheaper choice.
Lowest fee is not always best. The right provider also depends on integrations, settlement times, support, chargebacks, reliability and developer experience — not just headline fees.
How the calculation works
The estimate is built from your inputs, public provider rates and any monthly or minimum charges we can identify.
- 01
Transaction count
Monthly volume divided by average transaction value.
- 02
Channel and card split
Your volume is split across online/in-person payments and card regions.
- 03
Provider fees
Each split is priced with that provider's percentage and fixed transaction fee.
- 04
Monthly total
Praghas adds monthly fees, minimum charges and VAT treatment where they apply.
- 05
Effective rate
The monthly total is divided by your payment volume so providers can be compared fairly.
- 06
Source check
Every estimated provider links back to the official pricing page used.
Lowest fee is not always best
This calculator compares estimated public processing fees only. The best provider for your business also depends on integrations, settlement times, support, chargebacks, reliability, hardware, developer experience and your specific needs.
Frequently asked questions
- Are these fees exact?
- No. They are estimates based on each provider's public standard pricing. Negotiated rates, VAT treatment, chargebacks, refunds and currency conversion can all change your real cost. Always confirm with the provider.
- Why does average transaction value matter?
- Most providers charge a percentage plus a fixed fee per transaction (for example 1.5% + €0.25). On low-value sales that fixed fee becomes a large share of the cost, so a low average sale value pushes your effective rate up.
- Should I just pick the lowest-fee provider?
- Not necessarily. Fees are one factor. Integrations, settlement times, support, reliability, hardware and developer experience all matter. Praghas.ie shows the cost difference so you can weigh it against everything else.
- How often is the pricing updated?
- Provider pricing is reviewed roughly monthly. The assumptions section links to official pricing pages and marks when each source was last reviewed.

- The domestic / EEA bucket uses Revolut's Irish domestic consumer-card line; confirm treatment for non-Irish EEA cards directly.

- Shopify Payments rates depend on the Shopify subscription plan; Grow, Advanced and Plus are not modelled here.
- Shopify Payments is online-only in Praghas; POS, third-party transaction fees, apps and non-card payment methods are not included.
